# Attach Files to Runs

You can now attach files to runs, such as protocols, batch records, or instrument exports, so the documents that belong to a run live next to its data. Attach them yourself or ask Assist to do it, and Assist can open and use those files in its analysis.

**What you get**

- **Attach files on the run.** Add files to a run directly, or reuse a file you already uploaded to Assist.
- **One file, many runs.** Link the same file to several runs without uploading it again.
- **Assist attaches files for you.** Ask Assist to link a file to one or more runs.
- **Assist reads attachments.** When Assist loads a run, it sees the names of the attached files and can open them to answer your questions.
