# Analyst Role: Analysis Access Without Data Management

Workspaces now have an `Analyst` role for people who explore data and build analyses. Analysts get full access to the tools for that work and read-only access to the rest of the workspace.

**What you get**

- A new `Analyst` option in the role selector on the `Members` page, alongside `Admin`, `Data Steward`, and `Guest`.
- Full access to Formulas, Assist, Skills, Automations, and Reports.
- Read-only access everywhere else, so analysts can look at data without managing it.
- Analyst can be set as the default role for people who join through SSO auto-provisioning.
